Prestigious Cebu (Part 1)
By: Thirdy
Hi Readers! My name is Thirdy. I have been an avid KM reader fan since I was in high school. For someone who does not want to let the âworldâ know who I am, I am just happy and contented with just reading stories from awesome contributors. I get to be inspired with how fate meets two guys, have fun, creates all different kinds of relationship, some turn out to be a bitter ending, but some ends up happily ever after. It took me years to have the courage to write to you guys, not because I donât have a story to tell but just because I know my story is not interesting enough..until what happened to me recently. Thus after all these years, I now have the guts to tell you my story, hoping that you too will get to be inspired by this. So here goes⌠(By the way, this is a true story)
Disclaimer: I apologize if this is not in Tagalog. Iâm from Cebu, btw. I have a hard time writing in Tagalog. But Iâll do my best to make it Taglish. ;)
My story started when I set foot in a crowded classroom full of young studs. I came in as a first year student of a prestigious school here in Cebu. As I entered the room, I see some people chatting loud, some are just playing with their phones and some are just sitting awkwardly while waiting for our professor. I scanned the room to look for a vacant seat. That is when I saw this particular guy. He was just sitting alone, wearing earphones listening to some music and stared blankly in the air. He is around 5â7ââ, maputi, chinito eyes and a âbaby cuteâ face at mukhang mayaman. He looks like #Wilbert from Showtimeâs Hashtag (search nyo hehe). (so hindi baby face. Anyway, I saw a vacant seat beside him so I went there to take it.
Ako: Uhh, is this seat taken?
He just looked up at me and just shook his head. So I took the seat.
Minutes later, our professor entered the classroom and suddenly the class became quiet. We had the usual âintroduce yourself to classâ part of every first day of class. I learned that his name is Jonathan (not his real name) and graduated high school in Bohol. âAhhh, so taga-bohol pala siyaâ, I thought. Our professor made us group ourselves into three (our own choice) for a project that will last throughout the whole semester. Since, wala naman akong kilala that time, I just scanned the whole room and waited for someone to just approach me. Jonathan did.
J: Bai, maây group ka na ba?
Ako: Wala pa bai.
J: Group tayo, okay lang saâyo? Pero hanap pa tayong isang groupmate.
Ako: Sure bai.
We found another groupmate: si Nikki. She is the bubbly type and very pretty. Sheâs chinita, petite, at very cute. Not to mention, she is also smart. She graduated Valedictorian in her high school. I thought to myself, âOkay tung kagrupo ko ahâ. That day, we went lunch together and every day after that. Days and weeks had passed and we became closer as we worked on our project. Nikki, on the other hand, found a group of girls to hang out with and she became closer to them. So kami nalang ni Jonathan ang magkasama palagi though at times, Nikki still goes together with us.
Madali lang kami nagkaclick ni Jonathan dahil we have so much in common. We have the same hobbies, liked the same movies, listened to the same genre of songs, loved the same kinds of food, and even the same type of girls. One day, we had lunch together. I was so hungry at that time because I did not have breakfast. I ate really fast. He was just looking at me and kept smiling,
A: Bakit? May dumi ba sa aking mukha?
J: Wala naman. (He kept smiling) Cute mo pala kumain paggutom ka. Haha
A: Cute ka dyan! Kumain ka na nga.
J: Dahan dahan ka lang. Para kang baboy!
A: Sorry, gutom lang talaga.
We both laughed. Starting that day, he already calls me âBabâ- short for baboy. Eventually, I call him âBabâ too. We became so close at palagi kami magkatext. At first, mga kulitan lang yung texts namin. One time, while in class, I got a text from him (Yes, we were just sitting beside each other but nagtext pa din kami para hindi mapagalitan ng professor):
J: Bab, tingnan mo si Alonzo (classmate namin), titig na titig kai Marcus. hahaha
A: Hahaha..
A: Ewan ko bab. Tanungin mo kaya.
J: Ayoko nga. Hahaha Eh tingnan mo si Casey (isang classmate naming), butas ang suot nyang t-shirt. Ahahaha..
A: Boang ka talaga Bab!
J: Mas boang ka Bab. Kaya love kita eh.
Shock na shock ako sa reply nya. I did not reply already. I just looked at him and smiled. Throughout the rest of the class, I lost my concentration. All I was thinking was what he said ââŚkaya LOVE kita ehâ. I could not explain what I felt. I felt kilig, but nervous at the same time. Nervous because I do not understand how I felt about him. Yes, I like him. I love him too. âMaybe as a brother langâ, I convinced myself. I felt happy but Iâm not sure of it. Have you ever experienced the feeling that you know it is wrong but deep down inside you, you think itâs right? That is how I felt at that time. Does he really mean what he said? Or maybe wala lang âyun sa kanya. I shrugged off those thoughts as the bell rang.
Sometimes, we talk on the phone for hours. We now share to each other our wildest dreams, deepest ambitions, darkest secrets, our crushes and even sexual fantasies. We then became too comfortable with each other that we donât mind telling each other everything. We even made a vow to each other to tell each other everything.
A: Bab, basta walang secreto hah?
J: Yes Bab, promise :)
During weekends, he invites me to his house to play basketball or di kaya video games. That is two of the things we both love. One Saturday, I woke up to his text:
J: Bab, ano gagawin mo today?
A: Wala naman. Bakit? Ano plano mo?
A: Sure Bab.
An hour later, I arrived at his house. I was just wearing shorts, slippers and a shirt. I knocked at his door and obviously he answered it. When he opened the door, I saw him wearing only his boxers shorts. Nanlaki ang mata ko! It was the first time that I saw him in his boxers. Damn, he looks good in boxers! His body is toned (He is a gym guy), makinis, malaki ang pwet and not to mention, malaki ang tumbok.
